How to Enable Password Protection for Your Event Website or Individual Pages?

You can now password protect your entire event website or selected pages through the Security section in the Builder Settings. This feature helps organisers control who can view event content, ensuring privacy and security for sensitive event information.

Accessing the Security Settings

  1. In the Page Builder, click the Settings hyperlink next to the Page Selector.

  2. You’ll be redirected to the Builder Settings page. Locate the Security section to begin setup.

Option 1: Enable Site-Wide Password Protection

  1. Toggle ON the switch labeled “Enable Site-Wide Protection.”

  2. When enabled, per-page protection options are hidden.

  3. Click on the edit button. You’ll see fields to set up a global password:

    • Password

    • Confirm Password

    • A live validation checklist ensures:

      • At least 8 characters

      • One uppercase letter (A–Z)

      • One lowercase letter (a–z)

      • One number (0–9)

      • One special character (!@#$%^&*)

  4. The Save button becomes active once all conditions are met and passwords match.

  5. After saving:

    • Password fields are locked.

    • You’ll see quick actions:

      • Edit Password – Reopens fields.

      • Copy Password – Copies password to clipboard with a success toast.

    • All pages now require this password for access.

💡 Tip: The site-wide password automatically applies to all language versions of your site (e.g., /fr, /es), so you only need to set it once.

Option 2: Protect Individual Pages

  1. If the site-wide toggle is OFF, you’ll see a table of all public pages

  2. Click Protect Page beside a page to open the Password Setup Modal.

  3. Set the password following the same validation checklist.

  4. After saving, the status updates to Protected, with quick actions:

    • Edit Password

    • Remove Protection

    • Copy Password

If no page is selected, enabling protection will apply to all public pages by default.

Visitor Access Experience

  • When a visitor accesses a protected page:

    • A password modal appears with the prompt:
“Enter Password to Access This Page/Site.”

    • Includes a Show Password toggle for visibility.

  • Upon correct password entry:

    • The visitor gains access to the protected content.

    • A secure 24-hour session cookie is stored so they won’t need to re-enter the password during that time.

  • If the password is incorrect:

    • An inline error message appears:
      “Incorrect password, please try again.”

  • When the cookie expires or is cleared:

    • The visitor will be asked for the password again.

The content behind the modal remains blurred and inaccessible to prevent any bypass via browser inspection tools.
The feature works seamlessly across all modern browsers and under strict corporate/firewall environments.
