How to Restrict Submitter Login Access Based on Access Code Creation

Learn how submitter login access can be controlled through the creation and assignment of access codes within the platform. It outlines the workflow for generating access codes, associating them with eligible submitters, and restricting portal access only to users with valid assigned codes.

Step 1: From the event's backend, navigate to Abstract Management.

Step 2: Under Abstract Management, click on Settings.

Step 3: On the Settings page, locate the option "Block Submitters Access to Submitter Portal". Click the toggle to enable this setting. When enabled, submitters will be required to enter an access code to log in to the submitter portal. And in case there's no access code then all of the submitters won't be allowed to login.

Step 4: After enabling the setting, click on Abstract Access Codes in the left-hand menu under Abstract Management.

Step 5: On the Abstract Management | Access Codes page, click the Add Code button located in the top right corner.

Step 6: A side panel titled "Add Abstract Code" will appear. Fill in the required details for your new access code.

Step 7: Enter a Name for the access code.

Step 8: Select the Type of access code from the dropdown menu. The option is Submitter Login Code.

Step 9: Enter the Code itself. This is the actual access code that submitters will use.

Step 10: Specify the Usage Limit if you want to restrict the number of times this code can be used.

Step 11: Set the Valid From and Expires On dates to define the period during which the code will be active.

Step 12: Click Save to create the new abstract access code.

Step 13: Once created, the new access code will appear in the list on the Abstract Management | Access Codes page.

Step 14: To use an access code, navigate to the abstract submission portal. You will see a prompt for "Submitter access code required".

Step 15: Enter the previously created Access Code into the provided field.

Step 16: Click Continue to proceed to the abstract submission area.
