How to View Your Decision History for an Abstract as a Reviewer

Learn how to access and review the history of your submitted decisions from the View Evaluation(s) page in the Reviewer Portal. The Decision History feature allows you to review previous versions of your decisions, including decisions that were later undone or superseded.

Step 1: Log in to the Reviewer Portal

Log in to the Reviewer Portal using your reviewer account.

Once logged in, navigate to the abstract you want to review.

Step 2: Open the Abstract's Evaluation

Open the relevant abstract and navigate to the View Evaluation(s) page.

The page continues to display the existing evaluation information, including:

  • Abstract information
  • Submitter information
  • Author information
  • Evaluation details
  • Current decision
  • Existing reviewer actions

Your existing evaluation workflow remains unchanged.

Step 3: Locate Decision History

In the top-right action area of the View Evaluation(s) page, locate the Decision History button

The count includes only your decision versions and does not include decisions submitted by other reviewers.

For example, if you have submitted three versions and another reviewer has submitted two, your Decision History count will display 3.

Step 4: Open Decision History

Click Decision History to open the history modal.

The modal displays your decision history for the selected abstract.

The header includes:

  • Decision History
  • Your total number of decision versions
  • The relevant abstract ID
  • A reviewer-only, read-only context indicator

For example:

Abstract #12345 · reviewer only · read-only

Only your historical decisions are displayed.

Step 5: Review Your Decision Versions

Your decision versions are displayed as a vertical timeline, with the newest version shown first.

For example:

Version 3 — Current Decision

Version 2 — Superseded

Version 1 — Decision Undone

Version numbering is specific to your decisions for the selected abstract.

Decisions submitted by other reviewers do not affect your version numbering.

Step 6: Understand the Decision Status

Each version includes a decision and a status indicator.

Decision

Your submitted decision can be displayed as:

  • Accepted — Green
  • Rejected — Red
  • Pending — Blue

Status

The status identifies what happened to that version:

  • Current Decision — The active decision
  • Decision Undone — The decision was subsequently undone
  • Superseded — A newer decision replaced this decision
  • Archived — The version has been retained as a historical record

These statuses help you understand the lifecycle of each decision.

Step 7: Identify Your Current Decision

If you have an active decision, your current version is highlighted to make it easy to identify.

The current decision includes:

  • Green left border
  • Green timeline node
  • Current Decision status badge
  • Shield icon

The current decision is expanded automatically when the Decision History modal opens.

If there is no active decision, the latest applicable version is displayed according to its current lifecycle status.

Step 8: Review a Historical Version

Each decision version is displayed as an individual card.

A collapsed card shows:

  • Version number
  • Decision
  • Decision status
  • Submission date and time
  • Lock icon indicating the record is read-only
  • Expand/collapse control

Click a card to expand it and view the complete evaluation associated with that version.

Step 9: View the Complete Evaluation

When you expand a decision version, you can review the information that was submitted as part of that specific version, including:

  • Reviewer
  • Decision
  • Acceptance/Rejection Reason
  • Acceptance/Rejection Option
  • Quality
  • Difficulty Level
  • Describe Reason
  • Reviewer Feedback

The information displayed belongs specifically to the selected version.

It is not replaced with information from your latest evaluation.

Step 10: Expand or Collapse Versions

You can independently expand or collapse any decision version.

The current decision is expanded by default, while previous versions are collapsed.

This allows you to quickly identify your current decision while still being able to review any previous version when needed.

Step 11: Review Only Your Own History

The Reviewer Portal automatically restricts Decision History to your own submitted decisions for the selected abstract.

You will not be able to view:

  • Another reviewer's decision versions
  • Another reviewer's evaluation responses
  • Another reviewer's feedback
  • Another reviewer's undo information
  • Another reviewer's decision history

This restriction applies regardless of how the history is accessed.

Step 16: Close Decision History

When you have finished reviewing your decision history, close the modal by:

  • Clicking the button, or
  • Clicking outside the modal on the overlay.

Clicking inside the modal will not close it.

Closing the modal returns you to the View Evaluation(s) page.

Your evaluation and decision data will not be modified.
