What is the What’s Happening Section?
The What’s Happening section (also known as What's Up Section) is a mobile app menu item designed to surface real-time engagement and help attendees quickly discover important content.
It serves two main purposes:
1. Highlight Sessions
It showcases sessions across different categories:
- Live: Sessions currently in progress
- Upcoming: Sessions starting soon
- Popular Sessions, including:
- Trending: Most added to schedules
- Top Rated: Highest rated by attendees
- High Attendance: Most checked-in users
- Most Discussed: Session with the most Q&A activity
2. Highlight Booths
It also showcases booths based on engagement:
- Most Visited: Booths with the highest visits
- Most Saved: Booths bookmarked by attendees
This feature is only available on the mobile app and is not supported on the web.
How to Enable the What’s Happening Section
- Go to your Event Backend
- Navigate to Mobile App
- Click App Builder

- In the right panel, expand the Quick Links section
- Click Add Link

- Search for What’s Up Section

- Click to add it
Final Step
- Open the vFairs Mobile App
- Locate the What’s Happening menu item on the home screen
- Tap to view sessions and booths

- During initial app usage, this section may appear empty
- Data will populate automatically as attendees interact with sessions and booths
