Learn how to create and manage web notifications in vFairs, enabling organizers to effectively communicate with participants through reminders, announcements, and multimedia alerts during events.
What is a Web Notification?
Web notifications in vFairs are designed to enhance participant engagement by providing timely alerts and important information during events. These notifications can take various forms, including text messages, audio clips, and videos, allowing organizers to deliver essential updates seamlessly. By scheduling notifications, organizers can ensure that participants receive critical information at the right time, enhancing their event experience.
Steps to create web notifications?
- Login to the backend, and navigate to the “Marketing” section in the left menu. Click on it to expand, then select “Web Notifications”
- Click the ‘Create Notification’ button to initiate the process of creating a new web notification.
- Fill Out the Fields: You will see a form with several fields to complete:

Notification Title |
Enter the title of the notification. Example: "Event Reminder," "Session Starting Soon," or "New Announcement." |
Notification Message |
Type the message that will be displayed to participants. Example: "Don't miss our keynote session starting now!" |
Start Date & Time |
Select the date and time when you want the notification to begin displaying. |
End Date & Time |
Select the date and time when you want the notification to stop displaying. |
Language |
Select your event language |
Notification Type |
Select the type of notification you want to send:

Button Text |
Only appears for "Button or Message Notifications." Enter the label for the call-to-action button (e.g., "Join Now," "Learn More"). |
Button Action |
Only appears for "Button or Message Notifications." Define what action the button will perform, such as redirecting to a session, selected screen, or external page.

Target Session (Conditional) |
Appears if "Play Webinar" or "Direct to Webinar" is selected from the Button Action. Link the button to a specific session. |
Action Target (Conditional) |
Appears for "Button or Message Notifications." Redirect users to a CMS page. Your project manager can assist with this setup. |
Custom Code (Conditional) |
You can input custom HTML code to display in the notification. Your project manager can assist with code setup if needed. |
Audio URL or Upload File (Conditional) |
Appears for "Audio Notification." Upload an MP3 file or provide an audio URL. This audio will be played when the notification is clicked. |
Video URL or Upload File (Conditional) |
Appears for "Video Notification." Upload an MP4 file or provide a video URL. This video will be played when the notification is clicked. |
Target Segment |
If you want to target specific audience segments, select the appropriate segment from the dropdown. |
Continuous Display |
Enable this option to keep the notification displayed continuously between the start and end time, preventing users from dismissing it. |
Apply Segment |
Enable this toggle to activate segment-based notifications, which allows you to target specific audience segments. |
Status |
Toggle this switch to activate or deactivate the notification. |
- After filling out all the details, click ‘Save.’ The form will close, and you should now see your newly created notification on the listing page.
As you create multiple notifications, finding specific ones for updates can become challenging. You can apply filters to search for and manage your notifications efficiently.
Tip 1: Always test your notification after configuration to ensure that the correct fields and actions are set.
Tip 2: Before setting up notifications, if you plan to send notifications about sessions, it's helpful to organize your sessions into Tracks. This will streamline the process of assigning notifications.
