How to add or import products

Learn how to add products individually or in bulk to your E-commerce platform. This guide will walk you through setting up product fields, and managing both individual and bulk product imports efficiently in your dashboard.

Overview:

The Adding products feature allows Admins and Exhibitors to add products individually or import them in bulk using a template, simplifying the process of managing product catalogs. Follow the steps below to add or import products seamlessly.

Prerequisites:

  • Access to Admin/Event Owner role or Booth Admin role for Exhibitors.
  • Set up customizable fields in the E-commerce Item Form under the Registration section.

Step-by-Step Guide:

1. Adding Individual Products:

  • Navigate to the E-commerce Dashboard in the left-side panel.
  • Click on the Add Item button located in the top-right corner. This opens the add item form.

  • Fill out the form fields as required. The fields are customizable and should be set up in advance in the E-commerce Item Form under the Registration section.
  • After filling in the necessary fields, click Save to create the product item in the dashboard.

2. Importing Products in Bulk:

Bulk import allows you to add multiple items simultaneously using a CSV template.

  • In the E-commerce Dashboard, click the Import button.

  • Download the CSV template to view the required fields, which align with those you’ve defined in the E-commerce Item Form.
    • Note: In the Booth column of the CSV file, enter the booth ID, not the booth name. Booth IDs can be located in the Booth Management section.

  • Populate the CSV file with product information following the structure provided.

  • Once all product data has been added to the CSV file, import the file back into the dashboard. The items will then appear in the product list.

Tips:

  • Use individual item addition for detailed, one-off entries and bulk import for high-volume updates.
  • Double-check all CSV entries, especially the booth IDs, before importing to prevent errors.

By following these steps, you can efficiently manage product additions, whether individually or in bulk, to keep your catalog up-to-date and well-organized.
