Learn how to configure the vFairs application within your Identity Provider (IdP) using the vFairs event Entity ID and Assertion Consumer Service (ACS) URLs to seamlessly redirect users to the vFairs platform following IdP authentication.
Overview
Set up the vFairs application within the Identity Provider (IdP). For this documentation, we will use Entra ID SAML (formerly known as Azure AD) for the SSO configuration.
Steps to configure vFairs Application
- Log in to the Entra ID Active Directory Admin dashboard. Select “Enterprise Applications” from the list of Azure services.
- Select the "New Application" option and create vFairs application
- Select “Single Sign-On” from the "Manage" section in the left sidebar navigation menu, and then "SAML".
- Click the Edit icon in the top right corner of the first step "Basic SAML Configuration".
- Enter the "Identifier (Entity ID)" and "Reply URL (Assertion Consumer Service URL)" from the vFairs metadata file.
- Click the Edit icon in the top right corner of the second step "Attributes & Claims". Make sure the following attribute mapping is set:
- From the top menu, select "Add a group claim." Then, choose the groups you want to include in the Group Claims settings. For instance, in Entra ID, you can select "Groups assigned to the application" to return only the groups linked to the SAML app. Once the configuration is complete, click "Save."
- To authenticate users or groups, you must assign them to your Entra ID SAML application. From the navigation menu, go to the "Manage" section and select "Users and Groups."
- Scroll down to Section 3 of the "Single Sign-On" page and find the "SAML Signing Certificate" section. Copy the URL from the "App Federation Metadata URL" field, then either open it in your browser or download the metadata file.
