How to copy an event

Copying an event allows you to quickly create a new event while retaining essential settings, modules, and data from an existing one. Follow the steps below to efficiently duplicate an event using the organizational dashboard.

Step 1: Access the Organizational Dashboard

  1. Log in to your backend portal.

  2. Navigate to the Organizational Dashboard where all your events are listed.

Step 2: Select the Event to Copy

  1. Locate the event you want to copy.

  2. Click on the three-dot menu in front of the event name to reveal more options.

  3. From the dropdown menu, click on Copy Event.

Step 3: Fill in Required Fields

  1. On the new screen that appears, Enter the necessary details for the new event as mentioned below:

 


Event Mode

Select the format of your event (Virtual, Hybrid or In-Person Event

Event Access Type

Select from:

  • Full Event Access: For full access to all event modules.
  • Sessions & Registrations: For smaller events with limited access to selected modules.

Event Title

Input the Title for your event

Event URL

Enter the URL for your event 

Event Format

Choose the type of event, such as a conference, tradeshow, job fair, or any other type from the dropdown list.

Language

Select the language(s) from the multi-select field for your event. If your event will be in multiple languages, select all applicable options from the list.

Time zone

Select the time zone that matches your event location, which will reflect on the event site.

Start Date & Time

Choose the Start Date & Time for the event.

End Date & Time

Choose the End Date & Time for the event

Department

By default, choose All Departments. If department-level access is set up, select the relevant department

Server Location

Choose a server location from the list to determine where event data should be stored

Event Location

Specify the event location.

Event Country

Set the country where the event is being hosted or organized.

  • Click on Continue to proceed to the next step.

Step 4: Choose Event Modules

  1. In this step, select the modules you want to include in the new copied event.

  2. After selecting the required modules, click Continue to move to the final step.

Step 5: Select Module Data to Copy

  1. In this step, choose the module data you want to copy from your existing event to save time.

  2. Click on Copy Event at the bottom right of the screen.

Step 6: Confirm Event Copy

  1. A confirmation pop-up will appear, indicating that the event has been successfully copied.

  2. Verify the copied event in your dashboard and make any necessary adjustments.

Tips for Efficient Event Copying

  • Review Data Before Copying: Ensure that the existing event contains all the necessary information before duplication.

  • Customize the New Event: Modify key details such as dates, descriptions, and settings to differentiate it from the original.

  • Check Module Dependencies: Some modules may require additional configurations post-copying to function correctly.
