# How to Create and Manage Lead Types
## Managing lead types effectively is crucial for event organizers to categorize and follow up on potential leads efficiently. The Lead Capture system allows organizers to create and customize lead types based on their event needs. Follow these steps to
### Steps to Create and Manage Lead Types
1. **Log in to the Lead Capture Backend**
- Sign in to your Lead Capture backend as an **Organizer**.
2. **Access the Lead Capture Section**
- Navigate to the left navigation menu and click on **Lead Capture**.
3. **Open the Lead Types Screen**
- Click on **Lead Types** to view existing lead types.
4. **Add a New Lead Type**
- On the Lead Types screen, click the **Add Lead Type** button located at the top right of the screen.
5. **Fill in the Required Fields**
- Enter the necessary details for the new lead type.
6. **Save the Lead Type**
- Click the **Save** button at the bottom to store the new lead type.
### Default Lead Types
By default, the system provides the following lead types:
- **New**
- **Urgent**
- **Hot**
- **Warm**
- **Cold**
Users can select any of these lead type as Default so while adding new leads the default lead type will be automatically selected.
A Default label will be present in front of the lead type
### Customizing Lead Types
Organizers can rename or modify these lead types to fit their event’s specific requirements. Customizing lead types helps in better segmentation and prioritization of leads.
