How to create and manage the navigation menu for the virtual environment?

What is a Navigation Menu?

The navigation menu is a customizable feature that helps event organizers create an intuitive structure for attendees to access different sections of the event. It allows the setup of main menus and submenus for easy navigation, enhancing the user experience by providing quick access to various event areas like Exhibit Hall, Auditorium, and Resources. 



How to create and manage navigation menu?

  1. Log in to the backend and go to the “Event Content” section in the left menu.
  2. Click to expand the section and select “Navigation Menu.”

 

  1. In the Menu Editor drawer on the right, click the ‘Below Header’ button to view the list of built-in navigation menu.

 

  1. To add new menu items, scroll down the list and click on ‘Add New Item.’
  2. Rearrange menu items using the ‘Drag and Drop’ feature available in the menu item fields.

 

  1. Each menu item has a ‘Show’ button, allowing you to toggle its visibility on the main menu header.

 

  1. The ‘Edit’ button next to ‘Show’ enables menu item customization according to preferences.

 

  1. Various fields will appear for further customization upon clicking the ‘Edit’ button. Users can edit and then click ‘Update Item’ to save changes.



Icon

Select an icon to display next to this menu item for visual representation and easier identification.

Parent Menu

Choose the parent menu under which this menu item will be nested.

Menu Label

Enter the text that will appear as a label for this menu item in the navigation menu.

Context

Specify whether this menu item will be in Page or

Show Tab For

Select the user roles or groups for which this tab should be visible.

Show Menu After

Select when the menu should appear. After Check-in or

Action Type

Choose the type of action that will occur when this menu item is selected. The user will be redirected to the selected page.

Action Target

Select the target action that will be triggered when this menu item is clicked.

Action Filters

Apply filters to narrow down the criteria for when this action should be performed.

Show only if a condition matches (Toggle)

Toggle this option to display the menu item only when a specific condition is met.

Condition: Specify the condition that needs to be satisfied for this menu item to appear.

Timed Menu Item? (Toggle)

Toggle this option if you want the menu item to be visible only within a specific time range.

Start Time: Set the start time when this menu item will become visible to users.

End Time: Set the end time when this menu item will no longer be visible to users.

Move Users back to Lobby after End Time (Toggle): Enable this option to redirect users back to the lobby when the end time for this menu item is reached.

Active (Toggle)

Toggle this option to activate or deactivate the menu item.

Remove From Header

Delete the Menu Item from the Header.



  1. The main screen displays a preview of the navigation menu, reflecting changes made using the Menu Editor.

  2. The header includes a language change option, allowing the user to switch languages as needed. 

Users can easily use these tools to create and manage Navigation Menu.

Note: Highlighted fields appear when the toggles are enabled.
