Event organizers can create discount codes or coupons to provide registrants with discounts on specific packages, add-ons, or both. Follow the steps below to configure discount codes in the backend.
Step 1: Navigate to the Coupon Manager
- Log in to the backend.
- Go to the Registrations Module.
- Click on the Coupon Manager sub-module.
Step 2: Create a New Discount Code
- Click on the +Add Coupon button in the top right corner.
- A side drawer will open, allowing you to configure the discount code.
Step 3: Configure Coupon Details
Fill in the following fields:
Basic Information
- Coupon Name: Enter the name of the coupon. This is for internal reference only.
- Discount Code: This is the code registrants will enter to avail the discount.
- You can manually enter a code or click Generate Random Code to create one automatically.
- Codes are not case-sensitive
Discount Type
- Discount Type Dropdown: Choose one of the following options:
- Discount Amount (Fixed value reduction, e.g., $10 off)
- Discount Percentage (Percentage reduction, e.g., 10% off)
- Fixed Discount (Override Package Price with the Amount Set Here)
Enter the discount amount or percentage (this field updates based on the selected Discount Type).
Apply Discount to Packages and Add-ons
- Coupon for Add-on or Package Dropdown: Select what the coupon applies to:
- Packages: Discount applies only to selected packages.
- Add-ons: Discount applies only to selected add-ons.
- Both: Discount applies to both selected packages and add-ons.
- If Packages is selected:
- A Package Name Dropdown appears. Select the specific packages the discount applies to.
- If Add-ons is selected:
- An Add-on Name Dropdown appears. Select the specific add-ons the discount applies to.
- If Both is selected:
- Separate dropdowns for Packages and Add-ons appear to allow selection.
Validity and Usage Restrictions
- Start and End Date: Set the validity period of the discount.
- Usage Limit (Optional): Set the maximum number of times the coupon can be used. Leave blank for unlimited use.
- Limit to One Use Per User (Toggle):
- When enabled, the coupon applies only once per user per package/add-on.
- When disabled, users can apply the coupon multiple times.
Step 4: Save the Coupon
- Click the Save button in the bottom right corner.
- The new discount code will now be available for registrants to use at checkout.
Additional Notes
- Registrants will see the discount applied at checkout when they enter the correct discount code.
- Discount codes can be edited or deleted from the Coupon Manager list view by clicking the pencil icon (edit) or trash icon (delete).
- Discounts are applied before taxes and fees.
- Fixed Discounts are only applicable on Packages not Add-ons
