How to Import Speakers in the Backend

This guide will help you efficiently import speakers into your system to create their user roles, and link them to their respective sessions.

Step 1: Navigate to the Participants Section

Once you are logged in the backend, locate the Participants section in the left navigation menu.

Step 2: Access Attendees and Registrants

Within the Participants section, click on Attendees and Registrants. This link will direct you to a list that includes all individuals who have registered for your events.

Step 3: Initiate the Import Process

Look for the Import button, which is located at the top right of the screen. This feature is particularly useful for bulk uploads, such as when transitioning from another event management tool or uploading a list provided by a third party.

Step 4: Download the Template and Upload CSV File

Before importing speakers, you may need to format your data correctly. Click on the option to Download Template to get a CSV file template that matches the required format for import. Select "Speaker Template" from the dropdown selection fields. Fill this template with the speakers data you want to import as per the default columns in the template.

NOTE: The import functionality currently supports only the default columns provided in the template. Any custom columns added to the import file will not be mapped.

Step 5: Adjust the User Role to Speaker

In the "Upload CSV" section, select "Speaker" from the user role selection dropdown. The selection will auto-populate the "Speaker Registration Confirmation" email from the email selection dropdown. Click on the "Import" button. There will be a redirection to the CSV mapper section, click on the "Save" button upon verification of the mapped fields.

Conclusion

The Speakers will be successfully imported with the count of the total number of Imported speakers into your backend system. By following these steps, you can efficiently manage your participant list, reducing manual entry errors and saving valuable time.
