How to manage chat invitations

This guide provides a straightforward method for setting up chat invitations. By following these steps, you can learn how to set-up and manage chat invitations.

Step 1: Access Chat Settings

To begin, log in to the vFairs portal and navigate to the networking section. Click on "Chat Settings" to access the chat setup options.

 

Step 2: Enable Multi-Day Event

If your event spans multiple days and you need custom chat invitation timings for each day, toggle the "Multi-Day Event" option to "Yes." This allows you to set different chat timings for each day of the event. 

To add more chat slots, click the "Add" button next to the interval selection, which allows you to set up multiple chat times within the same day. 


Step 3: Setting Chat Slots

Under the chat slots section, you will see options to define the start time, end time, and interval for chat sessions.

  • Start Time: Specify when the chat slot will begin.
  • End Time: Specify when the chat slot will end.
  • Interval: Choose how frequently new chat slots occur (e.g., every 30 minutes). 


Step 4: Save Your Settings

Once you have configured all necessary settings, click the "Save" button located at the bottom right of the form to ensure all your configurations are applied and saved properly.

Step 5: Setting Up Invitation Messages

Navigate to 'Chat Settings' under Notifications to manage communication templates:

  • Chat Invitation Message: Configure the message that invites participants to join a chat. You can customize this message or use the default provided.
  • Chat Rejection Message: Set up the message that informs participants their chat request has been declined.
  • Chat Already Done Message: Establish the message sent when an invitation has previously been addressed.
