How to remove explicit language in chat messages

Ensuring a respectful and professional environment during your event is crucial. By enabling the profanity filter, you can automatically remove explicit language from chat messages.

Follow these steps to set it up:

Accessing Profanity Filter Settings

  1. Log in to the Backend and click the ‘Networking’ tab in the sidebar to access 'Chat Settings' screen.

  2. Click the "Profanity Filter Settings" tab seen in the left menu bar of the Chat Settings screen to access the profanity filter.

Configuring the Profanity Filter

Enable Profanity Filter: In the Profanity Filter Settings, toggle on the ‘ Enable Profanity Filter’ to activate the feature. 


Set the Filtering Preferences:

  1. Use the "Enable Custom Profanity Filter" to add custom words that needs to be filtered
    • Redact Full Message: Completely hide messages containing profanity.
    • Redact Profanity Words Only: Replace explicit words with asterisks or other symbols, keeping the rest of the message visible. Use the ‘Enable Default Profanity Filter’ option to choose how explicit language is managed.

By enabling and customizing the profanity filter, you ensure that chat interactions remain professional, fostering a positive and respectful experience for all attendees.
