How to Set and Enforce a Minimum Allowance in Allowance Negotiation

Learn how to enable and enforce a minimum allowance in Allowance Negotiation. This guide walks you through setting the minimum value, applying it to negotiations, and troubleshooting any issues.

Overview

The Minimum Allowance feature allows Admins and Event Owners to set a global minimum cap on allowances during negotiations. This ensures that allowance values cannot go below the defined limit, improving consistency and preventing errors.

Once enabled in E-commerce Settings, the system validates all allowance values entered during negotiations and prevents submission if they fall below the set threshold. This applies to all items and their allowances within the event.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Enabling the Minimum Allowance Setting

Only Admins and Event Owners can enable and configure this setting.

To activate the Minimum Allowance feature:

  1. Navigate to the E-commerce Module in the side panel.
  2. Click on Settings (top-right corner).
  3. Go to the Allowance Negotiation section.
  4. Switch the Minimum Allowance toggle ON to enable the feature.
  5. Enter the minimum allowable value in the input field (supports up to 2 decimal places, e.g., 0.45, 0.60).
  6. Click Update Settings to apply the setting.

2. Negotiating Allowance with Minimum Cap

Once the Minimum Allowance is set, it applies to all items within the event.

  • Navigate to the Allowance Negotiation tab.
  • Open a worksheet and click Edit Worksheet or the Negotiation button.
  • Enter an allowance value.
  • If the entered value is below the minimum allowance, the system will:
    • Prevent submission of the negotiation.
    • Display an error message:
“Allowance cannot be below the minimum cap of [minimum value].”
  • Adjust the value to meet or exceed the minimum allowance to proceed.

3. Validating and Saving the Allowance

  • Ensure that the entered allowance is at or above the minimum threshold.
  • Click Save or Submit Negotiation.
  • The system will accept the value and update the negotiation accordingly.

Access Control

Only Admins and Event Owners can enable or modify the Minimum Allowance setting.
All users participating in negotiations must comply with the minimum allowance rule.

Troubleshooting

🔹 If the Minimum Allowance toggle is disabled, ensure that an Admin or Event Owner has enabled it in E-commerce Settings.
🔹 If the input field is locked, make sure the toggle is turned ON.
🔹 If an error message appears during negotiation, check that the allowance meets the required minimum.

By following these steps, Admins and Event Owners can enforce a consistent minimum allowance policy, ensuring accurate and controlled negotiations across all items in the event.
