How to integrate Mailchimp with vFairs

Learn how to integrate Mailchimp with vFairs for seamless synchronization of attendee data. This guide covers the entire setup process, from field mapping to integration testing.

Overview of the Integration Process

  1. Field Selection: Identify the key user profile attributes to collect during registration (e.g., name, email, phone number).
  2. Create Fields in vFairs: Utilize the vFairs Form Builder to create the necessary registration fields.
  3. Create Fields in Mailchimp: Establish corresponding fields in Mailchimp to facilitate data synchronization.
  4. Field Mapping: Map the registration fields between vFairs and Mailchimp to ensure data consistency across both platforms.
  5. Integration Testing: Test the integration by registering a user and verifying that the data appears in the user listing sections of both systems.

Access the Integrations Dashboard

  1. Log In to the Backend: Start by logging into your backend dashboard to access the integration features.
  2. Navigate to Integrations: On the left menu bar, scroll down to the very bottom and locate the Integrations button.
  3. Enter the Dashboard: Click the Integrations button to enter the integration hub.
  4. Explore Available Apps: Once inside, browse through the list of all available apps displayed on the dashboard.
  5. Select Your App: Chick on the app you wish to integrate with and click on the Configure button to begin setting up your integration.



    Clicking "Launch Setup" will initiates the process.

    The first prompt would ask you to login to your Mailchimp account.


    Follow the instructions step by step as follows.

    1. Add Account



    Provide your credentials which will be used by Mailchimp with Two factor authentication to confirm your account


 

The integration list here displays various integrations. You can enable any integration that suits your needs.

 

Configure Create Contact Integration:

  1. Click the "Setup and Enable" button for the desired integration.
  2. A new screen would appear with a Yes/No dropdown.
    1. Important: Always select "Yes" during initial configuration to allow Subscriber update.
  3. Click the "Next" button in the bottom right corner.

     


      Matching Fields:

    1. These fields correspond to the data received from your vFairs registration form.

    2. Clicking a Mailchimp field displays all available fields from the vFairs data.
    3. Clicking the search field (see image) within a field lets you search these vFairs data fields.
    4. Search for a field (e.g., "First Name") to see the matching vFairs data field.
    5. Most recent-registered users will be automatically identified during matching, indicating a successful field selection.


     

    After Field Matching at the bottom of the page click the next button



    On the next screen Click save button and the integration will be completed successfully.
