Managing Badge Printing by User Segment

Event admins can now control which user segments (e.g., Speakers, Exhibitors, Attendees) are eligible for badge printing. Only the selected segments will be visible in the Badge Printing App, ensuring that badge access is tightly controlled.

What is this setting?

This setting allows admins to filter which segments of users are eligible for badge printing. Once applied:

  • Only users in the selected segments will appear in the Badge Printing App.

  • Only those users will be searchable and scannable for badge printing.

  •  Users outside of the selected segments will not appear in search results and cannot print badges.


Steps to select User Segments:

  1. Navigate to Badge Printing App in the left menu.

  2. Go to Badge Printing Settings.

  3. Open the Others tab.

  4. Look for the field currently named  “Eligible Segments for Badge Printing”.

 

How does it work?

  1. Enable Segment Filtering

    • From the dropdown, select one or multiple user segments (e.g., Admin Speaker, Booth Rep, Attendee).

    • Click Update Settings to save the changes.

  2. Impact on Badge Printing App

    • Only users in the selected segments will:

      • Be visible in search results.

      • Be scannable for badge printing.

    • Other segments will be hidden and cannot print badges.


Example Use Cases

  • Speakers Only: If your event wants only speakers to print badges.

  • Exhibitors & Sponsors: Restrict badge printing to exhibitors and sponsors.

  • General Attendees: Allow only attendee badges to be printed, excluding staff or vendors.
