# Streamlining Event Engagement with Enhanced Custom Type Leaderboard Points Import
## The introduction of custom type leaderboards in event management systems addresses specific customer needs by allowing the dynamic definition of point categories and improving the precision of data tracking and reporting.
**Introduction:** To enhance event engagement and accurately track participant activities, it is crucial to have a flexible and efficient system for importing and managing leaderboard points.
**Step 1: Access Leaderboard Tab in the Backend**
- **Log into the Event Management System:** Start by accessing the backend of your event management platform.
- **Navigate to Leaderboard:** Locate and click on 'Leaderboard' within the 'Engagement' section.
**Step 2: Implement Custom Type Leaderboard Points**
- **Add New Custom Type:** In the leaderboard settings, select 'Add'
- Choose the option 'Generate Custom (for Import)' in the Type field.
- **Define Custom Type Title:** When creating a new custom type, you will be prompted to enter a Title and an ID will be automatically generated.
- This ID is crucial for associating the correct points with the correct activities during the import process.
**Step 3: Prepare and Import Custom Leaderboard Points**
- **Download the Updated Import Template:** Download the CSV template which now includes an 'ID' column. This template will guide you on how to format your data correctly for import.
- Keep note of the important instructions to import leaderboard points.
- **Fill in Leaderboard Details:** Populate the template with leaderboard points, ensuring that each entry includes the appropriate ID to match points to their respective custom types.
- **Upload Completed CSV:** Upload the filled CSV file back into the system. The import functionality will process the entries based on the provided IDs, assigning points to the specified custom types.
**Step 4: Verify and Analyze Custom Leaderboard Data**
- **Check Leaderboard Listings:** After importing, verify that the custom types and their points are correctly listed in the leaderboard. Look for the new 'ID' column which helps in tracking and managing these custom types more efficiently.
- **Review Import/Export Pop-Ups:** Ensure that the rules for processing points, as outlined in the import/export pop-ups, are clear and understood. These rules include how the system handles different scenarios such as duplicate IDs or entries without IDs.
**Step 5: Download the custom types report:**
- To download the custom types leaderboard report, click Analytics section in the left navigation menu and then click 'Post Event Report'.
- In the Report Type, select 'Leaderboard Breakdown Report' and fill in the required fields.
- To download the report click on 'Generate Report' button seen at bottom right of the screen.
